We've done the whole thing before.Since we produced our first light more than five years ago, we like to believe that we have some knowledge about LEDs, lenses, sensors, and other aspects of intelligent bike lights. Customers have asked us a few times about the primary differences between our two most current lights, ACE and ICON2. There is a detailed comparative analysis here, but for this blog, we decided we would start from scratch and go into greater depth on the technology and light output.

 

 


Because COB LEDs are multi-chip packages, they can greatly expand the illuminating area while minimising glare, making them ideal for our lights. In essence, this implies that we are able to provide a very bright light in a clean and tiny packaging. Consider it to be cooperation!

 

See.Sense On your journey, ACE employs around 62 tiny COBs that work together to flash brightly throughout the day and at night, making you visible from over a mile away (125 lumens), and providing you with 200 degree of side visibility. Our design and technical teams worked quite hard on ACE to cram this degree of brightness and a respectable 10-hour runtime into a compact, sleek package that is perfect for any urban riding.

 

The See.Sense ICON2 makes you visible from up to 3 kilometres away and provides you with 270 degrees of side visibility using a mix of COB and a single CREE LED (for both a concentrated and diffused beam).


The greatest of the best, or at least that's how we like to think of it, CREE LEDs are like the Apple of the LED world. CREE LEDs are very energy-efficient and high-performing LEDs that provide a clear yet low-glare light. If you had a genuine ICON light, you would have seen that it contained two twin CREE bulbs that could produce up to 250 lumens each.

 

ICON2 has a massive 300-lumen output in the back and 400 in the front to keep you visible. We have also crammed a lot more brightness (and intelligence) into them. They are the light for you if you bike longer distances on the weekends because of their somewhat larger size, which allows us to provide you the maximum brightness and runtime possible.

 



Dispersed Or Focused? Our lights are made with premium dual CREE LEDs with a fresnel lens to provide exceptional visibility throughout the day, even in bright sunshine. The lights provide a diffused light instead of a concentrated one. This is to provide you with more than 270 degrees of side visibility so you can stay visible without blinding other drivers.
